In August 1920, a Constitutional Amendment gave women the right to vote. In honor of the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, Celebrating 1920 features work by women artists from the permanent collection.

The exhibition spans works made before and after women gained the right to vote, exploring women’s contribution to various art movements of the 19th and 20th centuries. Featured artists include Rosa Bonheur, Marguerite Zorach, Helen Frankenthaler, Audrey Flack, Gail Albert-Halaban, and others.

Join the Wichita Art Museum and the League of Women Voters in commemorating women’s suffrage. This exhibition was originally planned for spring 2020 but was delayed due to Covid-19 closures.
