About the Artwork

Many art critics have described Natvar Bhasvar’s work as resembling star fields or distant galaxies. Like a galaxy, Bhavsar’s paintings are made of thousands of individual parts— in this case, particles of powdered pigment. Seen together, these particles create a universe of color. While Bhavsar insists that his paintings are not representations of any particular thing—they are only explorations of color—he states, “If someone could take a microscopic film of what I’m doing, they would think this is a universe in the making!”
