Artist’s Statement:
“It is a view from my New York studio window, derived from one of my illustrations to Buttons, published by Viking Press last year. The subject interested me so much that I was not content to leave it in that form and felt I might incorporate it in something larger in color. I worked quite a time over it and felt most exhilarated while doing so, as it was the first time, I had attempted a moonlight in pastel.”
