About the Artwork
Painter and illustrator Aaron Bohrod gravitated toward art as a child, recalling that, at the age of nine or ten “it was fun to scribble.” Bohrod’s drawing Boy at Easel, Seen from Behind, depicts the artist’s young son also enjoying his chance to paint. The artist’s pride in his son’s artistic endeavor is evident in the angle of view. Rather than adopting a high angle looking down on the small boy, the artist draws him at eye level. This perspective conveys the respect that Bohrod had for his budding young artist who is concentrating at the easel.
