Rights and Reproduction

Collection Images for use in scholarly research, publishing, advertising and other uses may be obtained by submitting a request in writing to:

There may be a fee for reproducing works of art from the Museum’s collection.

All requests should include the artist, title, and accession number, if known, and the intended use.  Also include specific details of use (i.e. title of publication, author, publisher name and address, language, distribution rights desired, print run, product price, expected date of publication, interior or cover, and in color or black and white).

All requests are subject to approval and additional information may be required.  Prepayment in U.S. dollars and a signed contract is required.  Allow 2-5 weeks for delivery.

The Museum only allows reproductions from digital files and transparencies provided by the Museum.  Slides, digital files and prints are available for scholarly research and personal use.

Works of art owned by the Wichita Art Museum may be protected by copyright not held by the Museum.  The Museum assumes no responsibility for any royalties or fees claimed by the artist, or on his or her behalf.

All images, text, audio and video published by the Wichita Art Museum are protected by copyright and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without written permission from the Wichita Art Museum.  A copy of such materials may be downloaded for non-commercial,  personal, and/or educational use only, or as fair use as defined in the United States copyright laws.  Some materials on the Site may not be owned by the Wichita Art Museum and as such may be subject to approval of the owner before downloading.

General Information on photography in the Museum

Photographers may take pictures of art objects in the permanent collection of the Art Museum, using only existing light provided they are for personal use only.  Flashes, tripods or other lighting devices are not permitted.

Photography of loan exhibitions is not permitted
