Planned Giving

Planning for the Future

The Wichita Art Museum was founded with a planned gift from the late Louise Caldwell Murdock. Her gift was used to begin the now internationally renowned collection of the Wichita Art Museum comprising 168 works of art by “American painters, potters, sculptors and textile weavers.”
Since its founding in 1935, the Wichita Art Museum has been striving to meet the highest standards in pursuing its cultural mission. The ability to achieve and maintain those standards depends on the nurture and encouragement of generous members and friends. Without such philanthropy, Wichita’s treasured Museum and collection would not flourish.
Your support of WAM’s annual giving program each year is an important source of support. Click here to donate on-line.
In demanding times, however, the Museum cannot rely solely on annual giving. A growing and productive endowment is essential to this cultural institution’s survival, generated by planned gifts and bequests.
Please consider a planned gift or bequest to the Wichita Art Museum, Inc. housed at the Wichita Community Foundation. It can permanently honor your family or the memory of a loved one.

Founder’s Society

The Founders Society consists of generous patrons who share in Louise Caldwell Murdock’s commitment to lifelong giving. They have given gifts of cash, life income gifts or have included the Museum in their Will, trust or estate plans. All gifts of this nature are applied to the Museum’s first and only unrestricted operational endowment which is designed to create bridge funding to meet the rising costs of the Museum’s operations in coming years, and to attract quality exhibitions to the region. The Museum is fortunate to have received a generous challenge grant of $300,000 from the Forrest C. Lattner Family Foundation for the development of this endowment.
For more information on including the Museum in your estate, contact Lynn Hawks at 316-268-4934.
