Description:
The 54th Annual Art and Book Fair is presented by the Friends of the Wichita Art Museum. This fair will focus on the presentation of high-quality arts & crafts. The Friends is a dynamic social and volunteer organization that supports the museum with events, programs, and fundraisers.
Eligibility:
All works of art must be original and created by the applicant, and images must be clearly representative of the work brought to the fair. ALL BOOTHS WILL BE MONITORED. A participant whose display contains commercially-made items, slip cast ceramics, or products that are wholly or in part made by others, country crafts or repetitive works from patterns and molds will be asked to remove those items from the display. Artists who copy another work of art must title the resulting painting, sculpture, etc. as "A study after...". Commercially-printed reproductions of your two-dimensional works must be clearly marked as reproductions. Violations of these policies will result in future disbarment from the Art Fair.
Awards:
Awards will be presented to the artists selected by the judges: BEST OF SHOW and eight other categories. Works chosen will be viewed in the context of the body of work exhibited. The judges may also elect to make an award on the basis of the artist's overall presentation rather than in recognition of specific work.
Booth Space:
Participants are provided a 10' x 10' booth space and will need to bring their own display set up. ALL BOOTH SPACES WILL BE INSIDE Century II. Artists are to provide their own display materials, racks and/or tables in order to display their work.
Booth Fees:
Inside middle: $200 Inside corner: $250 Electricity (if desired): $36
Booth Set Up:
Displays may be set up in Century II on Friday, May 10th, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Confirmed Booth space will be held until 8 a.m. on Saturday morning. Any booth spaces not claimed may then be assigned to someone else.
Booth fee will be refunded minus $50 cancellation fee, if notice is received in writing (mail or email) by Friday, April 12th, 2012.
